John Connor has been climbing rocks for over 25 years, from boulders to big walls, across 20 US states, and many international crags. In addition to Friends of Joshua Tree, he serves as an Access Fund Board Director and is the founder and president of The Climbing Stewards. John was an original member of the Yosemite Climbing Stewards in 2012, and helped start the Joshua Tree program in 2014. He believes that climbers are best suited to manage climbing on public lands. John lives with his family among the tall trees of the Pacific Northwest.
