Hi, I’m John Lauretig the current President & former Executive Director of Friends of Joshua Tree.

I have been climbing for over 45 years and have lived in the High Desert for 25. I enjoy interacting with the climbing community. Joshua Tree is a world-renowned climbing destination which adds to the fun.

As President, I’m excited to work with our outstanding Board Members to continue to provide information and education to the vertical world and Joshua Tree National Park.

Climb Smart (3 day climbing festival www.friendsofjosh.org ) is our only major fund raiser that brings together climbing guides & climbers for education and stewardship.
